Membership Platform Survey for Creators

If you run a membership — on Patreon, OnlyFans, Ko-fi, Substack, or your own site — this survey is for you.

We're BT Free, a nonprofit that helps people move off Big Tech platforms onto community-run, open-source alternatives. Before we advocate for better tools for creators, we want to understand what creators actually need. What earns you money, what features you can't live without, and what you'd change if you were designing the platform yourself.

The survey takes about 10–12 minutes. It's anonymous, you can skip anything you'd rather not answer, and responses will help inform open research into creator-controlled alternatives to today's membership platforms.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

This survey is anonymous.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey.
